Huge Anger is Brewing Once Again In The Community. Have The Bondholders Left It Too Late? Dangerous game they are playing as Aventas and Floods are not wanted in Derrylin and the sooner they realize this the better for all.

Photo: SCHOOL BOY ANTICS IN AVENTAS ----DUMB AND DUMBER!

Threats, intimidation, disrespect for staff and managers was the order of the day at Aventas last week. How long are we, the staff, going to tolerate being treated as school kids?
It is unbelievable how the staff of Aventas are being treated currently and it appears to us that the QBRC managers are also being treated badly. At school, many years ago we were often shouted at to be quiet but we were never told that we were not allowed to speak to specific people; it was silence to get on with our work and let others get on with theirs.
Working for Sean Quinn we were always respectful to each other, polite in our interactions and felt we were one “happy family” and if we had a problem we could make an appointment and were sure of speaking to whoever we wished.
Now we have segregation—“Us and Them”. The managers that we worked with for years are now “out of bounds”; we are not to speak or talk to them!! This is true! I know readers will think this is exaggeration but far from it. To make things worse the QBRC managers have been given the same warnings—“Don’t talk to the staff”. If they want to speak to us they must go through the Aventas “mismanagers” or “Brendan” Shine.
Needless to say we are all so looking forward to returning to work on Monday but I doubt if we, “Children” will be so mannerly next week. It will soon be time to make a stand but if we are assured it is only for 1 more week we might tolerate their childishness. It is interesting to watch BULLIES at work!SCHOOL BOY ANTICS IN AVENTAS ----DUMB AND DUMBER!

Tom Mc Manus To the Quinn staff Dont allow yourselves be bullied by advent as we the local community will step in and assist you o Brien its time for you to go you bully and your a failure as well.

Orla Brown My mother and father used to like Brendan Shine but I don't think this comparison is a compliment to Brendan!!

Mary Jones What is the delay in finalising the deal with QBRC? Is it a ploy to try and sell glass before it goes through? It is time it was completed and let The Group get back to making money; last week's revelations about the accounts were shocking and it is hard to believe the Bondholders stand for the continuous depletion of the Quinn businesses. Every right thinking person wants the QBRC deal to go through and no-one wants a return to sabotage but relationships are badly strained by last week's childishness and disrespect for the workers.

James Nugent Louise when I think of a "thug" I think of Nidge or Fran from Love Hate. People always thinking of themselves ,always trying to make a fast buck, people who have limited or no respect for others.

I will add to some of your facts. Perhaps the Bondholders, or Kieran Wallace, or the Government read this site . Since his appointment in April 2011 Paul O'Brien has not attended the office more than twice a month.

In these 2 days a month , 24 days a year he gets paid 1.1 million euros a year. That's €50,000 a day. O' Brien was going to sell part of Quinns roof tiles to Lagan, without advertising the sale , or sending it out to tender.

Why? O'Brien is an old long term friend of Kevin Lagan, they were on the board of UTV together. ( Lagan was also given full access to Cement accounts, Lagan is a competitor of Quinns ) O'Brien sacked the whole IT department in Quinns, local staff, spending their wages in the local shops. He sacked them all and outsourced the IT to MJ Floods , in Baldonnell Dublin, now the staff numbers have not changed with this, but local jobs were taken.

Did I mention O,Brien is long time friends with Michael Flood, they were best men at each others wedding. O,Briens brother is in charge of erecting fences around the glass factory, there is no one in Cavan or Fermanagh capable of putting up a few fences, O'Brien had to go all the way back to Louth to hire his brother.

I could go on and on and on but need to be up early in the morning , to go to work, to see who I am allowed to talk to this week !!!

Pius O'Connell The destruction of Quinn Group is a disgrace and the bondholders have to take a stance and get rid of the destroyers NOW.
