Around 2,000 people turned out at Ballinamore Festival in Co Leitrim this evening to hear former billionaire Sean Quinn address the crowd.
The now-bankrupt Cavan businessman was a special guest at the family festival today.
Organisers of the event had come under criticism for inviting Mr Quinn to officiate at the ceremony - The Concerned Irish Citizens group say many people indicated that they wanted to hear from him.
"He hit out at the government, the regulator, and the banks for fuelling the property crisis, and not taking action soon enough," reporter with Shannonside Radio, Claire Mulcahy, said.
"He also said that the victim is the Irish taxpayer … [he] apologised for his role in getting so heavily involved with the former Anglo Irish bank.
"He hit out at the last two governments for covering up a lot of what he called 'fraud' that had taken place."
