MORE O'BRIEN PALAVER.

One has to wonder if Paul O'Brien is either a fool, or just a greedy vulture who is playing us all for fools. He must be exhausted after all his media spin recently about the Group's investment in Solid Recovered Fuel (Incinerator). He stated "The investment is fully funded from our own resources". With takings of one million and eighty nine thousand for just one year from the company that he is destroying, one might think that he himself was investing in this project but of course that would mean that he was actually interested in the company and of course we know that a man who takes such a exorbitant and nauseating salary has little interest in the success of the company.

Management stated that this project "is a critically important part of our progression to develop this business, to be competitive and to maintain employment in the local area".

CIC have two questions for Paul O'Brien:

1 How many local jobs will be created in relation to this project? Will any locals atall be employed at the construction stage or will workers from outside the area be used? Has Management done anything to ensure that the jobs are given to people from our communities? Many people have pointed out that when they googled Aventas, that not one picture of anything in Derrylin or anywhere locally appeared-indicative perhaps of the lack of respect or interest in our communities by current Management.

2 Is Management confident that they are going about this project in the right way? Word on the street has it that the approach is seriously flawed and that it will in fact further destroy profits at Quinn Group.
Since Paul O'Brien is so fond of addressing the media and giving interviews, perhaps he could provide answers to the above questions on this site. Those who have nothing to hide, hide nothing. We are fully aware that he follows what is published here so we look forward to hearing from him. After all, a man who is being so handsomely remunerated in our community should be willing to appease the concerns of all of us.

Sean Quinn never boasted about what he was investing in our communities and he sure as hell did no media palaver. He was far too busy for that and we all benefited. Nobody heard what he was doing until we saw the massive factories etc change the local landscape and hundreds of additional jobs were there for the benefit of the local people.

Over to you Paul O'Brien, or better still, do the decent thing and go before you have completely annihilated the company that served our communities for decades. You may fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you will never fool all of the people all of the time and at the rate that the Quinn Group is sinking, you will very soon not be able to fool anyone. Looking forward to hearing from you.
