Is there any Justice in Ireland?

    Dearbhail Mc Donald (http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/local-national/northern-ireland/fugitive-nephew-of-sean-quinn-is-made-bankrupt-30598439.html) wrote a very “informed” article in “Irish Independent” on Thursday about Peter Darragh Quinn's bankruptcy. As one who followed this saga over the past few years I would like to forward my uninformed opinions on some of the issues. Peter Darragh Quinn was never a shareholder in Quinn Group, nor had he any shares in Quinn properties. However as he, and his uncle, admitted in court they tried to put properties, that they felt Anglo were stealing from the Quinn family, beyond the reach of Anglo. (Most  people would try to protect their belongings from pilferers.) During the civil case Peter Darragh Quinn sent all the documentation of properties he had attempted to put beyond Anglo's reach to their legal team and they regained the Kutuzoff Tower in Moscow on the basis of his information and signatures and since then Anglo/IBRC are collecting rent from this Tower and claim ownership of it. Peter Darragh, according to the court records, did everything he possibly could to purge his contempt but Anglo would not allow him to do so.

    NOW “the joint Administrators of IBRC obtained the bankruptcy” for the Kutuzoff Tower value. Does that make sense? Would this young man have got any justice in Ireland? Not on this record!

    In the ContemptTrial, Anglo produced evidence from a server that they claimed the Quinns tried to destroy and which showed evidence of their guilt. Their evidence was accepted! Yet now they cannot or will not produce that server for the Quinns because they could find evidence on it which would vindicate them. Where is the justice here?

   Why was Sean Quinn made bankrupt in the South of Ireland? What purpose did it serve? Quite simply to prevent him giving evidence in court! His evidence could have had a damning effect. In making him bankrupt in the South Anglo's legal team actually lied and misled the court by claiming he was domiciled in the south when, in fact, he never worked a day South of the border. When he wanted to represent himself in court he was not allowed do that either!! Ridiculous!

   Anglo spent a year planning a takeover of Quinn Group. I wonder why? Was it to use  them as scapegoat for their guilt and wrongdoing? Why else would they sack all the managers who knew what had happened? So that no one would expose the wrongs!

  The CRUX of all these points is --  Where is the Justice in Ireland? The ex- Attorney General is masterminding this whole fiasco. He is in contempt of court for breaching a court order on the Discoveries and now “the foremost authority on legal discovery” is talking about 5 years to listen to the Anglo tapes. She is speaking for Paul Gallagher and they are withholding information from the Quinns, from the media and from the public. Officers of the court should champion the law, not distort it.

             Is the whole court system corrupt?

             Are Paul Gallagher and IBRC above the law?

             Where do the media stand in this corruption or are they forbidden to publish facts?

             Can we trust the judicial system in Ireland?
