Lagan Cement is to buy the Quinn Rooftiles business in Derrylin, Co Fermanagh. The sale, which will involve the transfer of its 17 employees, is subject to regulatory approval and will conclude in the coming months.

In a statement to Northern Sound, an Aventas spokesperson said: “Lagan has an existing smaller rooftiles plant in Belfast and can use the additional capacity at the Derrylin plant.” The statement added that this will provide continuity of employment for workers at the Fermanagh plant.

Aventas Manufacturing Group can confirm that Quinn Building Products Ltd and Lagan Cement Products (“Lagan”) have signed an agreement which will involve the sale of the Quinn Rooftiles business in Derrylin, Co Fermanagh to Lagan. Subject to regulatory approval the sale is expected to conclude in the coming months. Lagan has an existing smaller rooftiles plant in Belfast and can utilise the additional capacity which the Derrylin plant will provide. This, in turn, provides continuity of employment for people in the Derrylin plant.
