AH HA!

SO, FOUR AND A HALF YEARS LATER, THEY ARE FINALLY REALIZING THAT QUINN INSURANCE SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN PUT INTO ADMINISTRATION, BASED ON WHAT WE NOW KNOW WAS AN ERRONEOUS AND FLAWED INTERPRETATION BY ELDERFIELD ABOUT ALLEGED CROSS GUARANTEES.

THESE GUARANTEES HAD BEEN RECORDED IN QUINN GROUP ACCOUNTS BUT ELDERFIELD WAS IN FAR TOO MUCH OF A HURRY TO MAKE A NAME FOR HIMSELF TO BOTHER CHECKING SOMETHING AS BASIC AS THAT AND THE MAN WHO ONCE SAID THAT HIS STAFF "LACKED INTELLECTUAL FIREPOWER", THE MAN WHO NEVER DID A PROFESSIONAL EXAM IN HIS LIFE, WAS NOT GOING TO COME DOWN OF HIS HIGH HORSE AND ADMIT THAT HE WAS WRONG. WORSE STILL, NOBODY TOOK HIM DOWN OF HIS HIGH HORSE AND CRIED "STOP".

THE ONLY PROFESSIONAL ADVICE THAT HAS BEEN COMMISSIONED, CONFIRMS THAT HIS INTERPRETATION WAS WRONG BUT OF COURSE THE CENTRAL BANK HAS STILL REFUSED TO PROVIDE A COPY OF THE LEGAL/PROFESSIONAL ADVICE THAT MATTHEW ELDERFIELD (SHOULD HAVE) SOUGHT BEFORE PRESSING THE NUCLEAR BUTTON AND TRIGGERING THIS ENTIRE FIASCO.

SORRY IS DEFINITELY THE HARDEST WORD FOR SOME.......................... AND IT LOOKS LIKES SUSPENDING THE INVESTIGATION IS THEIR WAY OF AVOIDING IT.

Patricia Gilheany Speaking about" being sorry", it is ironic that the only person who has apologised to the Irish people to date is Sean Quinn, despite the fact that he was the biggest victim of all times and tried everything possible to avoid the taxpayers, insurance consumers being burdened in any way. It says an awful lot about the man and even more about those who created this mess and have run for cover trying to pin the blame on him.

James Nugent The Central Banks own figures showed that Quinn Insurance had higher reserves than any other insurer operating in Ireland when they put Quinn Insurance into administration. Elderfield was on a mission, to close down and destroy Quinn, as he knew the previous Regulator was complicit in Share Support and Quinn needed to be shut down. Elderfield couldn't protect Neary though from Judge Nolan's comments in the Anglo Criminal Trial.!!! Quinn was a scapegoat for the Central bank and the Regulators.

Anne Mcelroy I agree entirely with Majella, this whole fiasco is like something going on in Gaza where there is no law or order and all the innocent victims left defenseless, hopeless and lost. Ireland's politicians and legal profession need to show at this late stage a bit of courage and honesty and act NOW.
