WHAT HAS SEAN QUINN, THE IRISH GOVERNMENT, THE TAXPAYERS, AND QUINN ROOF TILE EMPLOYEES IN COMMON?

Sean Quinn was backed into a corner by Anglo at every turn, acts which ultimately cost him his company and the employees he fought so hard to protect? One could say that the Irish Government was backed into a corner to nationalize Anglo and the other banks. The taxpayers were backed into a corner, full stop, as they had no say in the fact that Anglo cost them billions of euros. Neither had they any say in the fact that an offer from the Quinn family to pay the State 2.8 billion euros, save ALL the Quinn jobs and create over 1000 additional jobs was thrown in their face. It was interesting to hear Leo Varadkar say last Sunday that approx. 35,000 people had objected to another matter and he said that the Government could not ignore objections from so many people. Why then were the wishes of double that number, the 90,571 people who signed a petition to have the Quinn Proposal accepted, completely ignored? Are the people in the border counties less important? And then there is the Quinn Roof Tile employees, some of whom have contacted CIC in utter despair.

1 Is the letter of 4th Feb. from QG New Management to employees, an attempt to bully/blackmail/threaten them that if they do not agree to transfer to Lagan, they will be sacked or let go? How would this letter be interpreted legally? Why are they not given adequate time to consider their positions and is Management prepared to answer their concerns and questions IN WRITING.
WHAT HAS SEAN QUINN, THE IRISH GOVERNMENT, THE TAXPAYERS, AND QUINN ROOF TILE EMPLOYEES IN COMMON?
2 How would any such transfer impact on their pension entitlements?

3 What guarantees do they have that they would not end up on the dole if they transferred to Lagan? (Supplementary documentation will be posted on this page to support the concerns that other workers in similar circumstances were disposed of at the earliest convenience). What entitlements would the employees have if they ended up in similar circumstances?

4 Do Quinn Group employees trust, or have confidence in a man who has taken one million and eighty nine thousand euros for himself for one year from a company that they helped build up?

5 Do they trust Kevin Lagan? (Supplementary documentation will confirm that the Lagan brothers do not trust, or have confidence in each other, and their business almost collapsed because of that mistrust), so how can Quinn Group employees, who are expected to take a giant leap into the unknown, trust such people?

6 What is the relationship between Paul O'Brien and Kevin Lagan? Did they work together in the past and is it not the case that this is a cosy, convenient, and mutually lucrative arrangement which promises rewards for the two men but nothing but insecurity and uncertainty for the Quinn Group employees who build up the Quinn Group?

7 Are the Roof Tile employees being used as guinea pigs to test the waters to see if Management can bully all QG employees into facilitating the fire sale of Quinn Group Companies in the near future? Whatever happened to the promise that none of the Quinn Group companies would be sold and the jobs would all be safe? Is Cement next? Is Paul O'Brien eyeing up Glass for himself?

8 Was the sale of Roof Tiles put out to tender in accordance with proper procedures? Given that the taxpayers have a stake in Quinn Group and have consistently been told that the objective is to obtain the best value for money, is Paul O'Brien prepared to answer all pertinent questions, such as those above and others eg. What is the sale price for Quinn Roof Tiles, Why was Roof Tiles run down prior to this development, Is Mr O'Brien prepared to be open and transparent and if not, why not

9 Is Management actively attempting to sell other divisions in QG and if so, what happens if it transpires that the company was seized illegally? Who pays the price? Do any employees believe that they will be compensated if they lose their jobs and if so, by whom? Did employees feel more connection with former Management and do they feel that they have any relationship with current Management who have no connection with, or loyalty to the local area and the employees?

10 Is Mr. O'Brien prepared to be open and transparent and if not, why not. What is he hiding?

THERE IS AN OPTION WHICH WOUD PROTECT ALL JOBS, REBUILD THE QUINN GROUP AND KEEP IT WHOLE. IT IS A REAL AND GENUINE OPTION AND ONE THAT WOULD NOT INVOLVE FAT CATS FLEECING THE COMPANY AND OFFERING UP THE EMPLOYEES ON A PLATE.

WATCH THIS SPACE AND DONT LET BULLIES RUIN WHAT IS LEFT OF THE QUINN GROUP AND THE FUTURES OF THE QUINN GROUP EMPLOYEES.
